Barbara Sobel began in the music business in the 1980s, publishing fan newsletters for some of the most popular groups of that era. Her love of music evolved into running fan forums for bands both domestically and internationally.
After volunteering with another promoter, In 2010, Barbara decided to start her own company, and Sobel Promotions was formed. She vowed that Sobel Promotions would be different from any other promotion company out there and would be a full-service promotion company focusing on both Indie and Mainstream acts, primarily in the Dance Music field. Sobel Promotions would be the core product of ‘Sobel Nation.’
Knowing that all artists are seeking radio airplay, and how difficult it is for Indie Artists to obtain airplay, Barbara formed a network of radio stations which encouraged Indie Artists to submit music.
All of her stations are legal, licensed stations which pay royalties to the artists for spins.

In 2010, Barbara started Sobel Nation Records which had released music from artists such as StoneBridge, Boy George, The Rubettes ft. John, Mick, & Steve, East 17, Steve Etherington, Glenn Soukesian, Amber Dirks, Soraya Vivian, Tight Fit, and others.
In 2014 Barbara starting booking her acts at different clubs throughout the New York Area and arranged for radio and print interviews for her artists.

She edits and designs websites for individual performers and groups and her award-winning work is distinguished by its originality. She treats each group individually, always keeping the performer’s vision at the heart of the campaign.
